LAS CRUCES – The Las Cruces International Film Festival will honor Academy Award nominated actor William H. Macy with its “Outstanding Achievement in Entertainment” award in 2022.

Macy will be on hand to accept the award in Las Cruces during a VIP party at the festival in early March. Macy will also screen his Academy Award winning film “Fargo” at the Allen Theatres Cineport at 7 p.m. March 3 and will host a question-and-answer session with the audience following the screening. Before the screening, Macy will speak at New Mexico State University.

Past recipients of the LCIFF award include Danny Trejo, Brendan Fraser, George Lopez, Cybill Shepherd and Richard Dreyfuss.

Macy is an Oscar and Golden Globe nominee, an Emmy and SAG Award winning actor, and a writer in theater, film, and television. Most recently he starred in the Showtime series “Shameless,” for which he was nominated twice for a Best Actor Emmy Award and has won twice for the SAG Award. Macy’s film credits include “Seabiscuit,” “The Cooler,” “Magnolia,” “Boogie Nights,” “Jurassic Park III,” “Fargo” and “Wild Hogs,” which was filmed in New Mexico.

Macy made his feature directorial debut with “Rudderless,” the closing film at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival. “The Layover,” his second film, was released in 2017 followed by his third film, “Krystal” in 2018. In addition, Macy is a founding member of the Atlantic Theater Company.

The seventh LCIFF takes place March 2-6, 2022 and will be live and in-person at the Allen Theatres Cineport. Tickets are available at www.lascrucesfilmfest.com. Prices range from $150 VIP passes to $25 for the “Fargo” screening.
