I saw this film at Brooklyn Film Festival and I can’t say enough good things about it. It touches on a subject which is very relevant today: how a closed community accepts someone different. Well, I won’t write any spoiler but you’ll see it’s easier said than done – even among ‘highly educated French people’. This film is not your usual mumblecore, in fact, it’s not a mumblecore at all. It’s very well shot and I assume it had a fairly decent budget. I didn’t think one could show New York in a new and unexpected way but the director managed to do that. The film has an eery beauty that stays with you. But most importantly you never get bored which is what I always dread with indies. I highly recommend it.
