Las Cruces International Film Festival Honors Acclaimed Filmmaker Shane Black with Outstanding Filmmaker Award

Las Cruces, NM – March 9, 2026 – The Las Cruces International Film Festival (LCIFF) is thrilled to announce that renowned filmmaker Shane Black will be the recipient of the prestigious Outstanding Filmmaker Award at this year’s festival. The award will be presented in person on April 10th, in recognition of Black’s extraordinary contributions to the world of cinema with iconic works including “Lethal Weapon,” “Iron Man 3,” “The Nice Guys,” and “Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang.”

The event will take place at the Allen Theaters Cineport at 6:30 PM, featuring a special screening of Black’s critically acclaimed film, “The Nice Guys.” Following the screening, Shane Black will engage with the audience in a Q&A session, providing fans and aspiring filmmakers an unprecedented opportunity to gain insights into his creative process. Black will talk about his work and career in depth with LCIFF Executive Director Ross Marks. “A Conversation With Shane Black” will take place 11:30am-12:15pm at the Allen Theatres Cineport on April 10th.

“The Nice Guys,” a neo-noir action-comedy set in the 1970s, stars Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe in a captivating storyline filled with twists, humor, and social commentary. The film’s sharp wit and engaging performances exemplify Black’s signature style and commitment to character-driven storytelling.
