
The official commemorative poster for the 2019 Las Cruces International Film Festival (LCIFF), created this year by artist Christina Ballew, will be revealed at a party on Friday, January 25 from 6 to 8 pm at The Las Cruces Museum of Nature and Science, 411 N. Main Street
The public is invited to attend and admission to the event is $25 which includes refreshments, a signed copy of the poster, and the opportunity to purchase VIP tickets to the Film Festival at a reduced price at the poster party.
Local artist Christina Ballew is a co-founder, Managing Partner, and Creative Director of NMCO Media where she collaborates and directs a studio of animators, videographers and designers. Christina has had a passion for storytelling and art since she was a child. Her body of work spans from painting, murals, illustrations, graphic design, production, and video direction.
According to the Film Festival’s Executive Director Ross Marks, “We are delighted to continue the tradition of LCIFF Commemorative Posters extraordinarily designed by local artists.”
Christina earned her degree in graphic design and has been working in media for over a decade. She moved to Las Cruces in 2012 and has been curating art shows, exhibits and promoting the arts economy ever since. In 2017 she curated 13 group shows and had 2 solo art shows, including “Indigo Night”, an exhibit of paintings featuring opuntia and New Mexican landscape. Last year Christina spearheaded the Color Me Cruces Mural with other artists, Anahy Nunez, and Aaron Valenzuela through the Downtown Las Cruces Partnership.
