LAS CRUCES, NEW MEXICO— On APRIL 12, 2025 the Las Cruces International Film Festival will honor “Star Trek” actress Michelle Hurd with its “Outstanding Achievement in Drama” award. Ms. Hurd will be on hand to accept the award in Las Cruces at the 2025 LCIFF awards ceremony at the Rio Grande Theatre on April 12th at 7pm. She will also headline a panel “Star Trek: Boldy Going from Script to Screen,” Saturday April 12th 2pm-3:30pm at the Rio Grande Theater.
Las Cruces International Film Festival founder and Executive Director Ross Marks said, “Michelle Hurd has a long and successful career culminating with her work on several great TV series. She is a talented and multi-faceted actress. We are proud to add her to an already stellar line-up for the 2025 film festival which includes Academy Award winner Helen Hunt.”
Michelle Hurd recently starred as ‘Raffi’ opposite Patrick Stewart for three seasons on the Paramount+ series Star Trek: Picard. Receiving universal acclaim from critics and fans alike. On the feature side, she starred alongside Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell in the global smash Anyone But You. And the independent film Somewhere in Montana with Graham McTavish, in theaters now.
On television, Michelle can soon be seen on the fifth and final season of You for Netflix. Other television credits include “Shepherd” on NBC’s hit drama Blindspot, Lethal Weapon, Ash Vs. Evil Dead, the Marvel Universe series Daredevil and Jessica Jones (“DA Samantha Reyes”), and the A&E summer series, The Glades (“Colleen Manus”). Hurd is a National Board member of SAG-AFTRA and Chair of the SAG-AFTRA Sexual Harassment Prevention Committee. For her commitment to union work, Michelle received the SAG-AFTRA President’s Award for Union Service in 2021.
Hurd is a proud alumnus of NYC’s premiere artist community at Westbeth. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from Boston University’s College of Fine Arts in 1988.
