The Las Cruces International Film Festival (LCIFF) Creative Team reports the unveiling of the official poster on January 24, 2017, was an amazing success and a big kick-off celebration for the upcoming March 8 – 12, 2017 film festival. The event, which took place at Cutter Gallery in Las Cruces, saw an increase of 30% in attendance and ticket sales over its 2016 event.
The amazing artwork, created and realized by Jud Wright captures the essence of what people love about New Mexico’s amazing and brilliant sky and diverse landscape while showcasing filmmaker’s in the foreground capturing the moment. “Jud is an amazing artist whose passion for what he does so well honors not just the film festival, but our sponsors, an amazing and supportive community and those that love independent film as well as all of us that call New Mexico home. The art is breathtaking and brilliant!” says Michael Evans, Marcom Director for the film festival.

This year’s festival honorees in attendance include Brendan Fraser “Outstanding Achievement in Entertainment” award, Johnny Galecki “Outstanding Achievement in Comedy” award, and Don Foster “Mark Medoff Outstanding Achievement in Entertainment Writing” award. Also attending the festival showcasing their film “The Tiger Hunter” on Opening Night are stars John Heder (Napolean Dynamite,) Danny Pudi (Community,) Karen David (Waterloo Road Reunited,) and Rizwan Mangi (Outsourced) and writer and director Lena Khan and producer Megha Kadakia.
